We are so excited to work with you! We value and strive to outline our business practices with clarity to create a lasting relationship of trust and safety. For the best experience for you and your pet, please read through and reference our policies and guidelines below. 

Appointment Expectations

Please read the following thouroughly; We want to give the BEST salon experience for your cat or dog. We are proud to offer one-on-one appointments only! We groom straight through the entire scheduled appointment time. This means no kennel time for your pet! 

How it works:

1.  We’ll greet you at the door at your scheduled appointment time (the door will be locked at all times for your safety and ours ♡)

2. In order for us to offer one-on-one no kennel appointments, we require on-time drop off at your scheduled appt. time and timely pick-up when we contact you. No need to linger around during or come by before we contact you.

The last 5 or 10min of the appt. is crucial! We’re doing final touches so it’s very important to avoid arriving early, knocking on the door/window, etc. 

Dogs get very excited when they hear your voice, cats anxious when they sense you’re near! Saftey is our #1 priority so please wait until we text you, “all done”

3. We will communicate with you as needed throughout the appt. time

If the appt. is running ahead, or behind- we’ll text you! If you’re running late, please text us. (Phone calls or voicemails will be returned at the end of the day)

4. When the groom is nearly complete, we will text you to let you know we’re almost ready. We will text again when 100% complete and the leash on. 

5. We will come to the door to let you in, get you checked out and on your way!

Canceling & Rescheduling

We kindly request notification regarding canceling or rescheduling your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. 

If a cancelation occurs on our end, we will do our best to contact you as soon as possible, rescheduling your appointment if applicable.

No-Show Fee/Recurring No-Shows

Failure to provide adequate notice for cancellation or rescheduling will be considered as a no-show. A $65 fee will be applied in the event of a first no-show.

In the event of repeated no-shows, the client will be charged the full cost of the scheduled service.

Unexpected Circumstances

We also understand unforeseen events may arise, such as family or medical  emergencies. Late cancellation fees may be waived on a case-by-case scenario.

Safety

We aim to make each and every appointment a stress-free zone. We are committed to providing great care, patience, and comfort for your pet. 

Our approach is always gentle. We do not utilize forceful procedures while caring for your cat or dog. If your pet begins to exhibit any anxiety or clear discomfort, we will adjust our practice or try alternative methods to ensure a positive experience.

If we are unable to complete a grooming session to maintain the well-being of your pet, we may recommend spreading the grooming process over multiple sessions to better acclimate your four-legged pal. This encourages a higher tolerance, increased comfort with the grooming session and building trust between us and your pet.

If there is continued or increased difficulty in the grooming of your pet, we may recommend seeking training to ease the discomfort during grooming sessions.

While we maintain an experienced level of knowledge that aids in our care of your furry friend, it is important to bear in mind we are not professional trainers. Certain behaviors or temperaments may lie outside of what we’re able to offer or look after. We will do our best to accommodate or offer alternatives if the need arises.

By making an appointment with Portland City Pet Groomers, you acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions outlined in this Service Agreement. PCPG reserves the right to update these terms with notice.
